A second trailer for the Project Hail Mary film has dropped. Here are some of our initial thoughts. MAJOR SPOILER ALERT for both the trailer and the book.

• As was clear from the earlier trailer, much of Grace’s internal thoughts will be conveyed through video diaries
• Rocky’s communication seems not to be represented by musical chords but interpretation still involves analysis of sound waves
• The trailer seems to want us to believe that Grace goes on the mission voluntarily
• There appears to be a visible light phenomenon associated with Astrophage activity as opposed to only an infrared Petrova line
• Who is Grace running from?
