#113 λℓV̶

Dr. Lamai is introduced in 15.073. Stratt has put her in charge of “all things medical for the Hail Mary” and she was previously the lead scientist for the company that developed the coma technology that will be used on the ship.

She is present in scenes in Chapter 16 and Chapter 23 and is mentioned in Space scenes in Chapter 23 and Chapter 25 in the context of the medical robot on the Hail Mary (which we find out was developed by another team led by Lamai).

Lamai’s direct speech consists of 12 quoted passages, 328 tokens, and 182 unique words.

She is the only character to say the words ‘armature’, ‘alerted’, ‘strictly’, ‘elective’, ‘independent’, ‘undoing’, ‘AI’, ‘applies’, ‘procedural’, ‘breakthrough’, ‘sustain’, ‘Bangkok’, ‘neural’, ‘encountered’, or ‘algorithm’ and the only person other than the narrator to use the words ‘indicate’, ‘thus’, ‘responds’, ‘customers’, ‘intended’, ‘potential’, ‘monitors’, ‘throughout’, ‘stations’, ‘version’, ‘pressing’, or ‘routine’.

The token count here is spaCy’s tokenization minus punctuation.

Unique words here means unique lemmas (with lemmatization also from spaCy) with minor corrections as we find mistakes.

Speaker identification was done manually.
